Dr N S Umenze
Dr Nnamdi S Umenze is a Post-doctoral research fellow at the Department of Public International Law, University of Johannesburg, South Africa. He obtained his LLD from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, LLM from the University of Fort Hare South Africa, as well as his LLM and Diploma in Law from the University of Benin in Nigeria. Nnamdi is a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, having gone through Nigerian Law School and was duly called to the Nigerian Bar over a decade ago. Over the years, he has worked as a legal practitioner in the public sector, as a State Counsel and also in the private sector, providing legal representation to individuals and corporate establishments. Nnamdi has published a number of academic articles in different areas of international law. He is enthusiastic about public international law with a keen research interest in international humanitarian law, international human rights law and international criminal law.

2. Dr. A Ojedokun
Dr. Ayodele Ojedokun is a post-doctoral fellow at the South African Research Chair in International Law. His research focuses on the challenges affecting the classification of contemporary armed conflicts viz. the organisation of organised armed groups operating in coalitions, the cumulative assessment of intensity in complex conflict, geographical scope of a non-international armed conflicts in the era of transnational armed groups, and the legal framework under which cyber warfare can be classified.
Ayodele holds an LL.B from Obafemi Awolowo University, LLM and LLD in Public International Law from the University of Pretoria. He is an admitted Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He participated in and completed the 2020 edition of the All-Africa Course on International Humanitarian Law organised by the International Committee of the Red Cross. Furthermore, Ayodele participated in the centenary edition of the 2023 Summer Course on Public International Law at the Peace Palace, The Hague. He is a recipient of the 2023 doctoral scholarship awarded by The Hague
Academy of International Law.
Ayodele has taught as a guest lecturer on “Classification of armed conflicts” locally and internationally at the University of Pretoria, University of Johannesburg, and Palacký University, Olomouc, Czech Republic. He also served as an intern with the International Humanitarian Law Department of the Pretoria regional delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in 2024. He has a book chapter and journal articles publication
